My problem
Top bearing bad--replaced top and bottom bearing. Also, updated to revised washer plate when reassembling, and replaced hot and cold water hoses. Working great!

My Repair & Advice:

Repair man wanted $476 to do job. I was able to do it for $128, even with having to buy the bearing press tool! I'm pretty "handy", but certainly not a professional appliance repairman. This was pretty straight forward. Several good videos on the internet. Most difficult task for me was getting the bottom nut off the bearing shaft. Finally had to get vise-grips to hold shaft tightly enough to break the nut loose. After that it went pretty smoothly. Just take your time and note how everything comes off and goes back on. Don't put small metallic parts in motor housing, it's magnetized and they will "stick" to the side--found a washer there when reassembling--could have been disastrous! Requires "tipping" the machine back and forth several times. Worried about getting the seal on correctly (flattest side goes up and be generous with the cement), but seems to be working fine.

My problem
Spin cycle extremely noisy. Work in industrial repair field so to me it was an obvious bearing failure.

My Repair & Advice:

Glad I waited for the repair kit and enclosed instructions. Was easier than you-tube videos led me to believe. Easy repair-just follow directions. Could be done without recommended tool, but much easier with it. Plus it probably won't be the only time you do this job. I let the sealant on tub seal cure for 24 hours before using washer. Don't pay a repairman if you have even basic skills with hand tools.

My problem
During spin cycle washer would sound like a jet engine.

My Repair & Advice:

Overall installation was pretty easy. Flipping the washer back and forth by yourself is where the difficulty comes in. I recommend getting some help with that. Just follow the directions that came with the bearing kit and you will be fine. I do have to give props to Ryan at Parts Dr for helping me get the stuff I needed. I originally ordered (@ 9pm)the whole tub assembly but did not know that it was on back order from mfg. The next day Ryan called and informed me of that. Then saved me money by getting me to order the bearing kit and press tool kit. It took a few days for it to come in on regular ground. I got home from work at 6pm and had the washer back together by almost 8pm. Don't forget to wait 24 hrs before running a load. That will let the glue set up. Thanks again Ryan you rock!!!!

My problem
Washer makes a very loud sound during the spin cycle

My Repair & Advice:

The paper instructions were clear except when you need to seat the bearings. The outer tub is made of plastic so I didn't want to crack it from over tighten with the bearing press tool. The bottom bearing was seated right away and I had to remove and install the press tool three times to check if the top bearing was seated or not. Each time the tub would turn when the press tool was tighten so I had to remove the tool to check on the top bearing. I used the drive shaft and the bearing spacer tube to let me know when the top bearing was seated. When the spacer tub can not move anymore, the top bearing is seated. Also to help the glue dry on the bearing seal, I did not install the inner tub until the next day. Its been one week and everything seems fine.
